Playstation 3 in Japan ausverkauft

Die Meldung, auf die man angesichts der Schlangen vor japanischen Geschäften und der in der Vergangenheit gesammelten Erfahrungen nur gewartet hat, verbreitet nun Heise Online: Die PlayStation 3 ist nach dem ersten Verkaufstag in Japan ausverkauft. Das komplette Startkontingent von offiziell 100.000 Konsolen wurde an den Kunden gebracht.

Wann neue Konsolen in den Handel kommen werden, ist derzeit ungewiss. Sony hatte die Erstverkaufsmengen für die Markteinführung in den USA und Japan schon im Vorfeld der Markteinführung empfindlich zurück schrauben müssen. Bestätigte Probleme bei der Fertigung des blauen Lasers für das Blu-ray-Laufwerk hatten eine größere Ausbeute verhindert.

Die Blicke dürfen nun gespannt auf den Start der PlayStation 3 am 17. November in den USA gerichtet werden. Letzten Meldungen zufolge werden rund 400.000 Einheiten für den ersten Ansturm bereit stehen. Ein großer Teil der Konsolen soll bereits im Vorverkauf seinen Besitzer gewechselt haben und in fünf Tagen nicht mehr zur Verfügung stehen. In Europa soll die PS3 im März des kommenden Jahres erscheinen.
