Radeon X800 Pro schneller als NV40 Ultra?

Nachdem nVidia bereits letzte Woche das Geheimnis um die GeForce 6800 Ultra gelüftet hatte, war es nur eine Frage der Zeit bis die ersten Gerüchte über die Leistungsfähigkeit der Radeon X800 Serie in den Umlauf gelangen.
Nach den neusten Gerüchten soll bereits die Radeon X800 Pro mit zwölf Pipelines, 475 MHz Chiptakt, 475 MHz Speichertakt, 96 Bit Präzision und PixelShader 2.0 schneller sein, als die GeForce 6800 Ultra mit 16 Pipelines, 400 MHz Chiptakt, 550 MHz Speichertakt, 128 Bit Präzision und PixelShader 3.0 Support.

Nach dem ATI die Entwicklung des ursprünglich geplanten R400 eingestampft hatte, welcher zwar viele Features (vermutlich PS 3.0 und VS 3.0) geboten hätte, aber nicht von der Performance überzeugen konnte, konzentriert man sich beim R420 besonders auf die Leistungsfähigkeit.
Erst vor kurzem sind in einem Forum die ersten möglichen 3D Mark 2003 Punkte der Radeon X800 Pro und X800 XT aufgetaucht. So soll die Radeon X800 Pro ca. 15.000 Punkte und die Radeon X800 XT ca. 18.000 Punkte erreichen. Was wirklich an den Zahlen dran ist, werden wohl erst die Reviews zeigen.
Gegen Ende des Jahrs ist bereits der R500 mit 128 Bit Präzision und PixelShader 3.0 Unterstützung geplant, bis dahin bleibt ATI bei einer Pixel-Shader 2.0 und einer Präzision von 96 Bit Unterstützung.

Aber auch nVidia scheint wohl noch ein Ass im Ärmel zu haben, nähere Details dazu sind leider noch nicht bekannt.


Meine Meinung:
Ich glaube eher weniger dass die X800 XT 18 000 Punkte im 3D Mark 2003 machen wird. Aber lassen wir uns überraschen x2yes
