Kommt Nvidia's Sound Strom 2?

Das warten auf Nvidias Soundsystem der Superlative hat ein Ende: am 9.12.2004 überbrachte der Grafikgigant die Nachricht über Sound Storm 2 - einen Soundchip der neuen Generation - in die internationalen PC-Illustrierten.
Bereits der Vorgänger Sound Storm wurde zum Kassenschlager, da es als On-board Lösung gleiche Klangqualität bot wie die um Klassen teurere SBLive! 5.1

Der neue Chip sollte laut Nvidia in Nforce 3 Chipsätze, künftig auch in Nforce 4 integriert werden. Es ist durchaus möglich, dass die neue Soundkarte auch in Intel Nforce 5 Systeme mitenthalten sein wird.

Zurzeit wird spekuliert, ob die brandneue Soundbombastik als reiner Board-chip oder als eigenständige Karte erscheinen wird. Der Hersteller gibt dafür vorerst keine Antworten
