Die Installation

Die Installation der Hardware ist denkbar einfach man muss nur die Batterien einlegen, sofort meldet sich das Mediapad und begrüsst einen herzlich und bitten einen Software die Software zu installieren.

Nachdem man den Hub an den USB-Port und den PS/2 Stecker gesteckt hat kann man auch schon loslegen. Die Geräte werden automatisch vom Hub erkannt falls dies nicht geschieht habt ihr natürlich auf jeden einzelnen Gerät die Connect Taste wie sie auch am Hub zu finden ist (diese wird später auch bei der Software installation benötigt )

Das beste ist allerdings das die Tastatur, die Maus und das Mediapad auch ohne Treiber funktionieren. Dies ist nicht nur für die BIOS super, da man seine Bluetooth Tastatur auch dort verwenden kann, sondern die Geräte kann man auch mit alternativen Betriebssystemen verwenden (hier funktionieren dann eben nur die Grundfunktionen der Geräte).

Die Software

Die Installation der Software ist Logitechtypisch einfach (Setup starten, weiterklicken und fertig).

Nach der Treiberinstallation, im Windows, starten der PC neu.
Nach dem Neustart funktioniert zuerst garnichts weder Tastatur noch Maus (im Windows) dies liegt aber daran das Windows zuerst einmal die Hardware installieren muss, da nun auch die speziellen Treiber im Windows vorhanden sind.

Nach erfolgreicher Erkennung von Windows übernimmt der Logitech Assistent das Kommando und konfiguriert die einzelnen Hardwarekomponenten in der Reihenfolge: Tastatur, Maus und Mediapad.

Was mich sehr erfreut hat ist die Mobile Phone Suite, diese hat sehr gute Feature dabei zB man kann sich die SMS direk am durchlesen und via antworten alles wird via Bluetooth schnell und reibungslos mit dem Handy abgewickelt. Auch ankommende Anrufe werde angezeigt, am Bildschirm erscheint eine Nachricht wenn man angerufen wird (mit Nummer bzw Name) das selbe passiert natürlich auch bei SMS's.

Verbesserungsvorschläge:

Mit dem Mediapad hat Logitech einen guten Anfang geschafft, die Möglchkeit dieses zu nutzen könnte man dennoch sehr viel weiter ausbauen. Man könnte das Feature das man zB die Musiktitel am Display angezeigt bekommt auf weiter Player ausweiten, was ich sehr begrüßen würde.

Das Einschalten des Computer via Tastendruck kann man mit diesem Set nicht nutzen, da ja der Bluetooth-Hub keinen Strom zur Verfügung hat wenn der PC ausgeschalten ist. Das Aufladen der Maus funktioniert aber wenn der PC ausgeschalten ist.

Vielleicht währe es möglich hier eine Lösung zu finden, den dies währe echt nobel. Die Treiber sind zwar super stabil und flott ABER sie sind leider nur für Windows 2000 & XP verfügbar, es währe sicherlich zu begrüßen wann es mehr Treiber geben würde vielleicht ja auch für alternative Betriebssysteme um dort auch das Set mit allen Funktionen nutzen zu können.

Das Fazit

Das gesamte Set wirkt von vorne bis hinten durchdacht, macht einen sehr robusten und qualitativ hochen Eindruck (Logitech typsich eben).

Die Software finde ich sehr gut gelungen, man hat viele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten und alles ist sehr übersichtlich gestaltet. Die 5 Jahre Garantie, die Logitech bietet, ist natürlich Konkurrenzlos super rock.

Trotzdem gibt es einpaar Kritikpunkte, zuerst ist natürlich der hohe Preis zu nennen und zweitens ist mir leider aufgefallen das die Maus ab und zu (ganz selten) den Kontakt aufeinmal zum Hub verliert. Dies basierte mir bis jetzt 2 mal und ich war sehr verwundert was den basiert war emostupid aber nach einpaar Sekunden und einpaar Klicks ins Leere war die Verbindung wieder da hüpf.

Die Bluetooth Technologie hat natürlich prinzipiele Vorteile, sie extrem sicher und benutzerfreundlich. Man hat wirklich "Freiheit" und kann alle Bluetooth Geräte einfach miteinander verbinden, es gibt jetzt schon sehr viele Bluetooth Geräte.

Interessant ist sicherlich die Verbindungsmöglichkeit mit dem Handy aber auch (was super ist beim Onlinegamen) die einfache Verbindungsmöglichkeit von Bluetooth Headsets.

Durch das trennen von Tastatur und Nummernblock hat Logitech viel mut bewiesen und es hat geklappt. Dadurch das sie den Nummerblock zu einer Art Multimediaschaltzentrale weiterentwickelt haben eröffnet das Mediapad den User total neue Möglichkeiten.

Aber nicht nur die neuen Features erfreuen den User sondern es macht total viel Spaß zB Far Cry nur mit den Mediapad und der Maus zu zocken.

Es gibt zwar nur Windows 2000 & XP Treiber, dies dürfte aber sicherlich über 90 % der Anwender nicht stören da sie sowieso Windows 2000 oder XP verwenden deshalb sehe ich darin auch keinen Contra Punkt.
